Studies have shown positive results in treating the following problems:

Addiction / Personality Disorders

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome / Chronic Pain

Depression / Anger Issues / PTSD

Anxiety / Panic Disorder / OCD / Phobias

Eating Disorders / Body Dysmorphic Disorder

Relationship problems / Psychotic Disorders

CBT Counseling

CBT involves the counselor and client working together to address the client’s belief system, emotional issues, and behavioral patterns.  Education is an important part of CBT therapy as the therapist may teach the client a concept or skill and then assign the client homework to apply the concept or skill in everyday life situations.

The counselor encourages you to understand that your thoughts, beliefs, and the meanings that you give to an event, produce your emotional and behavioral responses.

Counseling is usually short-term and goal oriented and directed.  The focus is on helping you move from knowing what the problem is to solving the problem.

Mental health treatment may include medication from your doctor or a psychiatrist, changes in diet and exercise, and counseling.  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) are the two approaches in counseling Dr. Crystal Hollenbeck uses to help you address your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to eliminate or manage the issues you are addressing in counseling.
