Anger is an innate human emotion that every person experiences throughout their life span. Anger can be a healthy resource to motivate us to take action against an injustice or a sign to protect ourselves or our loved ones from harm. It can be an important expression related to our value system. However, when anger is affecting our daily life and relationships, it may be a signal to us that we need to nurture our mental and emotional health.

 

There is no secret to controlling your Anger! Anger affects people of all personalities, ethnicities, and socio-economic backgrounds. People who manage their anger well have simply been taught how to do so. Healthy Expression of Anger and Conflict Resolution skills are something that every person must learn…so do not be so hard on yourself if you are struggling with anger…Instead, take time to learn the tools to manage Anger effectively.

 

Anger Management has been an issue since time began

 

Be angry and sin not: Do not let the sun go down upon your wrath” (Ephesians 4:26 KJV) is a Bible scripture that teaching us three things about anger:  (1) we will be angry (2) we should control what we do with our anger, and (3) we should try to resolve the issue making us angry as soon as possible.

 

 

Aristole said, “Anyone can become angry. That is easy. But to be angry with the right person, to the right degree, at the right time, for the right purpose and in the right way… that is not easy.

Anger Does Not Have to Continue to be an Issue for You:

  3. Respond: Changing non-productive responses to healthy ones.
  4. Reflect: Reflecting on changes and addressing unresolved sources of anger.
  5. Relate: Relating to self and others differently after healing and change takes place

 

Dr. Crystal Hollenbeck is certified in Anger Management and she helps individual men, women, and adolescents, as well as couples and families address anger issues and develop Anger Management skills. She also conducts Three Day Anger Management Therapy Intensives, Anger Management classes for schools and corporations, provides group therapy, and gives seminars on various topics related to Anger issues.
